Oh alright, I'll make a Christmas morning post ^_^
It's been foreeeeeeever but hey, better late than never, eh? Anywho, happy holidays all around for anyone who stumbles here! Kwanza, Christmas, Channuka (man, I cannot spell) or whatever you fancy, good tidings to you!
Wasn't so busy at the store today, despite it being Christmas Eve. I mostly wrapped presents (my presents) in the back. Mom's feeling quite ick so I went out for lunch with Liz and her mom then went back to work for 2 more hours. I came home and totally vegged, cleaning the kitchen on a whim, playing some NHL 06, watching Forrest Gump.
Man, Forrest Gump...I love that movie! He's so silly ^_^ There are so many great, great quotes from that film that I simply cannot put them all here! I really must get the DVD.
Oh, and I watched Underworld again today too. Damn, is that movie awesome or what? Don't know much about the story's origins, but the mythos presented in the movie itself were extremely intriguing. I always find myself thinking and wondering about the Lycans' and Vampires' pasts and such, imagining the action and intrigue of centuries past. But what always gets me going about that movie is
the total LACK of female werewolves! Girls can be werewolves too! Better ones! Personally, if I HAD TO choose, I'd be a werewolf. Vampires have all the cool (not to mention battle-handy) powers but I couldn't stand not being able to be out in the sun. You don't see many Asiatic/Pacific vamps in movies, now do ya? Nah, we love the sunshine too damn much ^_^ Besides, we eat enough blood as it is (
"More pork blood stew with rice, anyone?")
Lycanthropy has it's upsides as well. From most of the literature I've read (
okay, so they're almost all fiction novels, so what!) non-transformed werewolves still keep a few abilities with them during the rest of the month. In one book (which I will find the title too!) the private investigator/assassin guy was a human...er, were-human lie detector, using his VERY acute sense of smell to tell (by simple deduction) what a person's true feelings are. Crazy! Lycan's probably have some mad durability and endurance too, I'd love that!
Back to Underworld though: Since watching it again, I've began to wonder what's going to happen to Kate Beckinsale's character, Selene? I mean, she turned Michael at the end into the kick-ass freaky/cool Lycan-pire thinger. But remember, she
*drank* his blood, so does that mean something's going to be
up with her in Underworld: Evolution??
